I finally got a response from LH, in Orlando you have access to the United Airlines Red Carpet Lounge at gate 43, however LH departs from gates in the 80''s ina different satalite. is it worth messing around and making the trip to the lounge ??

While I do not know the Orlando RCC, I haven't een one RCC yet, for which i would walk more than 2 minutes....... I rather use a restaurant / bar to wait for departure than getting depressed in a RCC.... Cheers, S

I've been in the Orlando RCC several times and the only good thing I can remember is that it was quiet and peaceful. As far as I can recall water was the only beverage available (on a sunday morning...).

Besides the low quality lounge, you will have to take the train back to the main terminal and connect to another train bound for the lufthansa gate.

Here is the Terminal map: http://www.orlandoairports.net/images/diagrams/gate_numbers.gif

I flew to Frankfurt out of Orlando beginning of November - got a LH printed invitation that invited me to use the Delta Crown Room which is not soo far away from the gate. And - it offered free wireless LAN...

If the OP can get a pass to the Delta club it would be miles above the UA RCC, in terms of self-pour booze and snacks.

I would suggest not making any additional time to see the UA Club, think of it has a quieter place to sit/work and thats about it, at least in most cities.

Now, if this is still the arrangement, it would be a very good option, indeed. Miles-and-more viz. RCC :)

The MCO RCC is just as bad as any other RCC.
I think the Delta Crown Room should be better. Is that the lounge Condor uses for Comfort Class ? My memory is failing me...

Condor uses the DL CRC:

What COS did you fly in? I'll be flying to MCO from FRA in F next year and while I am looking forward to the lounge experience in FRA (FCT) going to the RCC in Orlando doesn't seem so tempting.

If you have a PriorityPass or an Amex Platinum or Centurion you can use the Delta Crown Room with those cards too. Anyway, compared to the FCT both the RCC and the DL CRC are degrees of bad or worse !

In addition to the time spent getting to the RCC, you will have to clear security to get to the concourse where it is located, then go through security again to get to your gate, not worth the trouble.

Is it okay to just have the AMEX Plat. with me in order to get access. I thought I have to show that PP card anyway.

Well, I am very rarely in the situation, that I need this. But once in a while ATL on a DL connection comes to my mind.

I flew F but the invitation was not for First Class. Looks like they invite all premium cabin passengers and *gold to the delta crown room

Amex Plat only lets you into a DL CRC with a same day DL BP. With an LH BP you won't be let in unless you have PP.

That's kind of weird as far as I can remember I saw the Lufthansa sign on the A side of the airport (right beneath the hyatt). Flysas states that LH uses gate 80, but that would be on the B side.

If they didn't change the gate since their first services (what would be kind of crazy) you're right and to visit the RCC would be a nightmare with two tsa checks and a walk of about 2 km.

Besides that, LH probably knows about the status of RCCs and thus sometimes uses other lounges (like in DEN where they use the CO lounge - well but they also use a non-UA terminal there).
