Hi there
I will be flying back to LAX from AKL with one oversized piece of luggage.
Do you know if i need to check that piece in a different counter in AKL??
Is not heavy at all , just a little bit oversized. 49 for 52 inches.
Thanks for any advise.
Regards
Your one is OK. Each piece of baggage should have total dimensions (length + width + height) no greater than 158cm (62").

Thanks! But, do i need to check this pice in a different counter?
A friend of mine flew with it from LAX to SYD with Qantas and they gave her a hard time with this piece. She was told that she needed to have gone to a different counter since it was a oversized item.
Not sure if Air New Zealand in AKL would do the same
Please advise

You should be fine - having flown both QF and NZ out of both AKL and LAX, I've noticed it's always Qantas who gets so finicky about baggage issues. I remember even once when they had me repack all my luggage, only to find out that the upper deck with almost completely empty, so it's not like the plane was going to be overweight!
At any rate, this is the NZ forum, I digress - I'm not aware of having to go to a separate oversize baggage check in either LAX or AKL, so you should be fine.
Have a safe flight! :)
