Looking back from AKL international terminal last night I saw what looked like a bright green painted NZ 737 or A320. There was some kind of logo/picture, but too hard to see exactly what. What is with that horrid colour?

Thanks. Was it painted in the past few weeks? Last time I saw FRE (3 or 4 weeks ago) I don't recall it being so bright green.

Horrid colour? I think horrid is a bit too strong a word. It's an OK green.

First flights were 24 October. Supposedly ANZES did a video showing the 737 being stripped and repainted.
It looks different in different light levels and certainly not missable in the bright sunlight.
NZ have been delaying their new colour scheme for various reasons and they used this opportunity to do some advertising. As the plane is completely painted we will be seeing this in our skies for a few years to come.
The Thompsonfly 737 on short term lease will not be in NZ colours as well.
