Las Vegas - Mayweather - Hatton (Dec 7-9) LV Meet

I have found a bunch of us are going to be in LV the weekend of Dec 8th. Some of us for the fight, others for fun... Post here if you would like to meet up that weekend for drinks. I know baccarat_king and showbizguru are already in (if their trips dont get cancelled). I am arriving Friday AM and am staying at Caesars.

Hmmm... an event in LAS? I guess I will have to attend ;) I have AA hotel room starting on the 9th if anyone needs a place to stay.

No wonder hotel prices are so high.... I was confused since the airfare was the absolute lowest I've ever picked up for a Fri night-Mon night trip.

Fortunately, I booked a refundable revenue room at Planet Hollywood for Fri/Sat back in August, but unfortunately it's still far more than I want to spend ($159+tax/night) unless I'm going to get upgraded to a suite. I'm thinking about downgrading to the HGI Strip South on points instead, as I am over my target of three AXON's worth of points and it's convenient to the airport at 11pm on a Friday.

Sunday night is no issue, I have a $37 prepaid at the Exaclibur. :)

So does anyone have a suggestion as to where or when? I am going to the 7oclock KA show on Friday evening, but other that have no plans.

Wife and I are coming in on Friday Morning (7th) through Monday morning (10th) for the Harrah's Gift Wrap Up. Staying at Paris. Anywhere mid-strip is good for us (Caesars, Bellagio, Paris, Bally's, etc). Of course any Harrah's property is preferred so we can rack up some more shopping points between trips to the Diamond Lounges! :D

Anyone fancy a meet late afternoon on Saturday December 8th - how about a classy,old-fashioned cocktail bar where they really now how to make 'em ?
It would certainly get me and the best buddy in the mood for the fight ( and as we're only watching it on giant TV screens it doesn't matter how mullahed we get ! ) and would help lubricate Anglo-American relations !

baccarat_king is currently resting in his room at Harrah's Atlantic City after a very relaxing spa day @ the new Red Door Spa (http://www.harrahs.com/casinos/harrahs-atlantic-city/casino-misc/red-door-spa---elizabeth-arden-detail.html) --- where I had a most superb massage followed by 2 hours relaxing in the saunas and relaxation rooms. Which, was much needed after 48 hours of non-stop gambling with only around 7 hours of sleep. I never realized how tense my shoulders get after spending hours at the Dice table until 5.30AM.

kaukau -- dice table @ harrah's was blazing hot last night --- incredible shooters for over 1.5 hours --- with one guy really pulling it in. I hate being so conservative sometimes --- but, you really do need big balls to put $300 to $600 on the pass line backed up by full 5x odds ---- this dude had it --- and boy, it was impressive (and, not to shabby for me either :D)

I'll be staying at the Hyatt Place over on Paradise Fri/Sat. Difficult to beat one night paid (I need my stay credits) and one night FFN. Then Sunday night at the be-au-ti-ful $40 Excalibur. :)

I've been to Vegas many times but usually with a GF.
Coming in Sat @ noon with a buddy (we're both 30).

Can someone tell me what it's like when a big fight is on? Is the strip just pakced all day or does the size of Vegas sort of swallow the 12,000 or so people there for the fight?

Are tickets still available? Approx cost for it?

Thinking it will be nuts to try to get into a club?

I'd also like to pick up some wine for a friend that you can't buy in Canada. We have a rental car. Is there a wine store off the strip I could drive to?

After the Mayweather vs De La Hoya fight it was pretty crowded at MGM --- but, we had a relaxing dinner at Shibuya after the fight; to avoid the post fight exodus. Before the fight, it just seemed regular "busy" to me --- nothing that crazy. As expected, table minimums at MGM after the fight were quite high.

Are tickets still available?

Yes, but through brokers. If you aren't that picky about seats, $1,000 to $2,000 per ticket should get the job done.
