MilesBuzz! - Are there any credit card cos. that will take back the bonus?

I remember reading in some forum that someone had a problem where the credit card company took back the miles/points when they canceled the credit card too quickly. I've searched and can't find it. I like to cancel my miles cards within a few months of getting the bonus. Am I pushing my luck? I know that most of the companies don't care, but it is really bothering me that for some airline or hotel company's affiliated credit card, people were warning that the company will take back the bonus if you don't keep the account open for at least X--but I can't remember which card/program this was! Anyone?
Oh yes, that's what we need, another churning thread! Shouldn't be too difficult to get the remaining loopholes closed. Loose lips sink ships, but PMs are your friend.

Chase will yank the miles if the account is open for less than 6 months. They starting to enforce all of their rules earlier this year.

I think the main point would be is that you need to read the fine print and see what the rules are for the credit card(s) you want to dump. Then act accordingly.

How do they take back miles if you spend them right away? Do they charge you for their cost of the miles?

According to the terms:
If your account is not open for at least six months, United and Chase reserve the right to deduct the bonus miles from your Mileage Plus Program account.
I recalled reading posts stating:
1. reservations got cancelled due to the bonus miles deduction/withdrawal;
2. forced to pay up the award tickets in cash. (don't think I can locate the exact post right now)
My advice: Just don't play the game! :)

Current redeemable miles balance: 424,758
Year to date Elite Qualifying Miles (EQM) 0
Year to date Elite Qualifying Segments (EQS) 0
Lifetime United flight miles: 56,129
Guess where all the miles above the flight miles came from.
Never had any taken back, though UA won't give me any more bonuses anymore.

God forbid we actually discuss miles-earning strategies on the FT discussion boards. Is this like the "secret" information-sharing clique that another poster (or maybe it was you) referred to in another post? Good grief.
