Hilton HHonors - HHonors double base points promo / 500 points email registration

Just received a Flyer from HHonors posted from Addison, TX, USA

"You'll earn double HHonors Base Points for all your stays between 15th October 2007 and 31 January 2008"

small print says "this offer is valid for named recipient only and is nontransferable"

Explains "2007 STAY OFFER " has anyone else had one of these?

It also says "receive 500 Hilton HHonors bonus points when you add your email address to your HHonors profile by 31 January 2008,. Visit hiltonhhonors.com/earn500/ie for details" but results in a message saying "We’re sorry. This promotion is now over." Oops another system cock-up?

I changed my email address a few days ago and have received 500 pts. I wasn't even aware of the promo and it was a nice surprise. You can try and see if it works for you.

I received exactly the same feedback;-(

I contacted HHonors customer services who were unaware of this promo.
They then tried to tell me that I obviously wasn't eligible because the already had my email address on file. I questioned how they knew the T&C’s of a promotion that they had no knowledge of.
I also told them that I would be very surprised if anyone didn't already have an email address on file as it is now probably the only way to actually register for an HHonors account.
They have agreed to look into it with a view to giving me the points.
