Air New Zealand Air Points - can you use part airpoints part cash?

I looked but didn't see a thread.
Can you buy a ticket on NZ paying only a part with airpoints and the rest with cash, ie. a fare would be $1000 and you would use 500 airpoints and $500.

Not possible. Although you can buy a one way ticket using Airpoints and return with cash, that's hardly part Airpoints part cash.

Nope - other than taxes on longhaul (which cannot be paid for with airbucks).
YES, if you have a Diners Club card you can purchase rewards points for conversion to Airpoints. Only looks to be economical for long-haul/business class awards... There isn't even a limit as to how many you can purchase.

That's the cheapest I've seen so far - Starwood points work out to 2.275 USD currently, to buy 1 APD.
