Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - Need a vacation idea, any help greatly appreciated

I'm new here just signed up, hope someone can help with an off-topic question...

This summer I decided to splurge and I went with wife & baby to thailand for 2 weeks.. had a great time and cathay was amazing... I didn't however have the money at the time so I'm now paying it off..

I need to plan something for next summer. and I'm wondering what is a great destination that is also a bargain using Asiamiles (coz of their system of rewards...)?

Currently have 17,000 miles from the trip. I'm accumulating miles on starwood... so I'm hoping come summer I'll have around 50-60,000 for each of us (baby free)

Would love to go back to Thailand but it seems to be just over the boundary of 60k and they require 80 or 90k....

I'm in California BTW... Ideally would like somewhere that is relatively inexpensive, adventurous nice nature and some really quiet islands or beaches (like Thailand...) anyone have any ideas?!?! not in n. america....

Also how late can I usually book an award flight? is it necessary months in advance?!

Boracay Philippines. Great beaches, and really cheap once you get there.
