Other Car Rental Programs/Partners (ie. Alamo, Enterprise, Sixt) - Banged up Alamo car -- what do I face?

I was in a parking lot today, going about 10-15 mph, when a young child ran away from his mother and directly into the path of my car. I didn't have time to stop and I swerved to my right, sideswiping one of those pillars that they put up to keep you from driving into the mall.

I knocked the right rear view mirror off of the car, and dented the front right fender and the right front door.

I did not fill out an accident report with the police as there was no personal injury nor was there any damage to anything except the car (the pillar was left in fine condition).

I rented the car with full LDW. What problems do I face when returning it? How long should I plan on them delaying me? I am about 30 miles from the airport where I rented it. I am planning on returning it on Monday (I can still drive with it) but should I make a trip there tomorrow to report it and to avoid headaches on Monday and possibly missing my flight?

Good job taking the coverage.
Just plan on allowing time to fill out the damage form when you return the car on Monday. Even though you took the LDW all cars have to have a damage report filled out on them. Think of it more as an Incident report. Inside your rental jacket there is a damage form, fill it out. Some cities take that as "enough info" and don't make you fill out much else. There are some notes the agent will have to take down on their Incident report, then they will have you sign it.
Now the best thing to do is to call the location and let them know what happened, they can take down most of the info over the phone and that can expedite the paperwork for you to speed up your return process.
Anything you can write down on paper now about the accident so you can just hand it to them is best. Also have a biz card to staple to the notes then you don't have to write down all that info. The more info you can give to them the less likely they need to contact you later and you will be done with this.
I work for National/Alamo in Phoenix. Incident reports tend to take about 10 mins to fill out. But if there happens to be a couple of people ahead of you in the return office doing the same thing it can slow you up a bit. That's why I say call the location now and ask their advice. Each location handles things differently.
Great defensive driving! This could have been Horrible.
