Just got 1,000 points posted on my account:

UP TO 3,000 PTS 2ND STAY-LSS

Anyone knows what kind of promotion this is?

I got the same after two stays in Sheratons in Asia. Maybe we are getting closer to this?

I have no idea either. I recieved the same thing last week, but still haven't seen the promotions I know I registered for. (ie. the 500 *points per night, up to 1500 a stay)

I also saw these 1000 points post a few days ago, but I have no idea what promotion they're from. As for the "Up to 1500 Starpoints" promotion, I wouldn't expect to get those points until December/January. From the T&C's (http://www.starwoodhotels.com/preferredguest/promotions/registration/terms_conditions.html?promoID=C1T):

Bonus Starpoints earned will post to the Starwood Preferred Guest member's account 4-6 weeks after the end of the promotion.

I'm thinking it's this:

SPG members who enroll/register online will earn 1,000 bonus Starpoints on their next 3 eligible stays at a SHERATON hotel. Max 3,000 bonus Starpoints. Participating Properties = Only Sheraton hotels & resorts participating in SPG.

Thanks, Lurker. Do you also have a link to that promo? This is actually the first time I've seen those points post even though I stay at a Sheraton every week.

Regrettably, no. It is a bit complicated to explain, but I can assure you that you haven't missed out on anything. In fact, you and ten others are bit ahead of everyone else. ;)

It would be great for those that want to followup on the various promos and their point posting if there could be a list of the posting codes for the various promos...
Or is there?

1,000 points that I believe was the same code for this promotion was added to my account a few days ago and now the line item has been deleted and points withdrawn.

Not credited, then debited, mind you. Just deleted. Poof. Vanished. Like it never happened.

Mine also appeared and disappeared (without any indication that it had ever been posted). Wonder what would have happened had I used the points in the interim

This promotion was never activated...in other words, no one had signed up for it yet because the url had not been published. Nevertheless, all Sheraton stays were being credited with the bonus because it had been programmed incorrectly. As you can imagine, the number of Starpoints given out was enormous, so a reversal was done over the weekend.

If the promotion launches, then I'm sure everyone will get an opportunity to really earn the bonus once the promotion actually goes live.
