I think a good thread would be for PAYG SIM cards strictly for data usage. I found many times hotel internet in Europe to be very expensive and with the new notebooks having the option of UMTS built in (like the new Sony TZ) and great speeds, it would be nice to know where to get a card.

Country: POLAND

Provider: Orange
Name: Orange Free na Karte

Purchase Cost: 20PLN (about 7USD)
Included: 65MB over 1 month / SIM valid for 1 year from last refill

Services: UMTS/HSDPA in Major cities with EDGE and GPRS countrywide. Tested speeds in Krakow on my Tytn and I got 1.7mbps

Refill amounts/valid days/ data
5PLN (~2USD) / 2 days / 16MB
25PLN (~9USD) / 1 month / 81MB
50PLN (~18USD) / 3 months / 162MB
100PLN (~35USD) / 5 months / 358MB

so about 0.03PLN/100KB

Promotions: sometimes the banks and ATM kiosks do a promo where if you buy 150PLN, you get 30PLN extra. Last May there was for about 2 days you get triple the amount what you paid for. I know a lot of friends took advantage of that on their PAYG phones (I got a contract, so didn't help me) Currently you get 10% more.

Extra Features: Could also be used as a phone, but expensive rates at 1.50PLN/min for call, 0.20PLN for SMS

Take a look at prepaidgsm.net. They collect this stuff and it might be a better place to post this.
