Asia - Brunei from NYC?

What is the best (quickest and most comfortable) way to get to Brunei from New York? Are any of the routes on a mainstream FF program like AA or Star Alliance? I'll be going there for business in December (and I hear I should bring my umbrella for that time of year!)

JFK-HKG-BWN (with CX/BI) is the quickest and most comfortable. Two other options are JFK-LHR-BWN and JFK-DXB-BWN. I would find neither as comfortable as flying on CX.

I'm surprised that you'd recommend CX/ JFK-HKG over flying to Dubai, but at least I'd also get AA miles with that flight. Also I am a AA Platinum member so I assume I could use Admirals Clubs in JFK and HKG? I'd just perhaps miss out on a nice layover in Dubai.

EWR-SIN-BWN on SQ might also be worth considering. And you'd best bring along an umbrella for any visit to the tropics any time of the year...

Well, it now looks like I am flying Business Class on CX from JFK-HKG and then Royal Brunei to Brunei from HKG.

How's the business service from JFK-HKG (I think its on a 777)?

A bit late, but just to let you know that Thai flies NYC-BKK-BWN as well as another Star alliance option (though only a couple of times a week to BWN).
