William J. Notaro was on a plane Saturday headed for Albany, N.Y., to visit family, authorities said, when he asked a flight attendant for Band-Aids.
The Clearwater man was bleeding - from gunshot wounds.
Notaro was taken off a U.S. Airways flight in Charlotte, N.C., and treated at a local hospital for wounds to his torso and arm, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office. The injuries were not life-threatening.
Those airline benefits are few and far between. Some people won't let anything get in the way of cashing in on those bennies.

He really read the terms and conditions about the ticket being non-refundable, eh?
Those TSA screeners at TPA were sure on the ball.
Those TSA screeners at TPA were sure on the ball. :rolleyes:Nah -- he'd probably bled less than 3.4oz.
boodily fluids weren't in a clear plastic bag so that's why the didn't catch it.

Probably where the gunshot wounds really came from.
Definitely a different calibre of passenger in the USA.
I wonder if the projectile was still in him why the metal detectors did not catch them.

Couple of thoughts: Projectiles may have exited his body; and small pieces of lead might not set off the WTMD.

A man who claimed to have boarded a flight from Tampa to Albany International Airport despite three gunshot wounds could now face a criminal charge of falsely reporting a crime, authorities in Florida said Tuesday.
No one disputes that William J. Notaro was bleeding when he boarded US Airways Flight 1974 just before 10 p.m. Saturday in Charlotte, N.C. Notaro, who was flying to the Capital Region to visit family, was taken off the plane, treated at a Charlotte hospital and then boarded a later flight.

Makes you wonder what goes on in peoples' heads. Did he really think a band-aid was adequate for a gunshot wound? haha

Jack Bauer don't need no stinking band-aid!! Stuff a greasy gasoline rag in the wound, and that should take care of it for Jack!

True story - I sat next to a teenager once, on a flight, who claims he had been shot in a ghetto neighborhood he grew up in. He said the .22 bullet hit a bone and bounced out of his back. Since his brother was an army medic, he got sewn up at home and never went to the hospital!!
People really are that crazy!!
