I've been reading with great interest the "$20 trick" (along with the suggestions for other denominations), and was wondering if this works other places than check in?
We've bought tickets (really expensive tickets at that), for Elton John's Red Piano at Caesars. I've got to think that some of the premium seats in the theater are held for people who never end up filling them. Is there anyway to tip your way into those seats? (If so, suggestions on denomination and who this should go to would be greatly appreciated).
Thanks for the advice!

I have been successful at some concerts in AC that are "maitre d'" seating. Its bascially open seating, and they can put you any place. A $20 tip has gotten me some great seats.

Unfortunately Red Piano is not open seating.
I would flash the bill(and a $50 or $100 is going to get you more than a $20)
but wait till your seating is upgraded to slip it to the guy, this is where 2 fifteis might be better than a single bill.
Unfortunately these shows have been selling out-so good luck.

I tipped up at Fantasy in May - we had (relatively) crappy seats b/c that's the best we could get with the 2-for-1 deal, so I walked up to an usher with a $20 under our tickets and asked if there was a chance that they had better seats. She said she'd try and that we should take our original seats; 2 seconds after we sat down, she waved us down to the front row. An older couple had 2 seats on the aisle, but didn't want to spend the entire show looking up.
An incredible fluke, and probably even rarer at a more popular show, but it never hurts to ask. Plus they'll give you the tip back if they can't help you out.

No tip needed, but the best seats are often avalable at face value by standing in the cancellation line a couple hours before each show.

Follow QL's advice. All of the popular shows in Vegas have a stand by line that sells no shows etc at face value. Show up a couple hours before the show but be prepared to stand around.

A good relationship with a casino host will also work wonders for show tickets.

I discreetly toked a casino host $100 - they're not allowed to accept tokes - ;) - and here's what it got me: http://flyertalk.com/forum/showpost.php?p=7537582&postcount=10
It was totally worth it!
