Starwood Preferred Guest - Puerto Rico suggestions

Hi all,
I have done several searches for *Wood property recommendations on Puerto Rico, but have not found any thing recent and comprehensive, so I am posting this here - apologies in advance if this has been discussed before (but "puerto rico" or "four points puerto rico", etc. yields either irrelevant threads or threads from 2005 - not very recent).

My wife & I will be going to Puerto Rico for the first time for a quick weekend getaway. We want to use *wood points for the stay. Looking for recommendations as a *wood Platinum guest (we just want to relax - not run around and try to cram in all the sight-seeing we possibly can). We do plan to rent a car so that we can perhaps drive to the rain forest, etc.

i've stayed at the four points palmas del mar in the past year. i thought i posted a trip report...maybe not.

the four points palmas has a great beach but it is in dire need of a few $$$. the rooms/beds/bathrooms are very old but the beach and pool is very nice. the physical plant is pretty poor, but if you are going to spend most of your time at the beach or pool, it should be fine.

the san juan property is pretty yucky, if you ask me. it is really a good place to crash the night before a cruise but i wouldn't make a vacation out of it. there isn't a beach.

thank goodness the rio mar is now a wyndham.
