Do they still have drive through liquor stores in Texas? Apparently so. :)

It has not been legal to drink and drive (no typo) since the early 90's. Prior to that, it was legal to drink and drive as long as you weren't drunk. And we did. But we don't any more.
Open containers were permitted in Texas until September 1, 2001.

They never did.

Clearly you have never purchased liquor in Lubbock out on The Strip. ;)

And yes, there have been beer barns around N. Texas... just maybe not in your neighborhood. They used to be quite common around parts of Tarrant and Denton Counties.

Beer & wine sales were voted in a few years ago. No liquor, though...I hear you have to travel a little farther north for that.
