Looks like CX will add 2nd daily to Toronto, and this will be a nonstop flight, according to HKG Airport website.

CX826/827 is the flight number, no words on the aircraft, but assuming a 77W.

Great news.. Does that mean F will return?

OK, where's the proof? Even the HKIA website doesn't have the proof.

It's supposed to be the 346 freed up by CX830/1 which will go live with the 77W.

Believe it when you see it...

Indeed it does.

parnel333 on cathaytalk (http://www.cathaytalk.com/showthread.php?t=2963)posted the link to the Flight Planner (http://www.hongkongairport.com/eng/flightinfo/plannerarr.html). Check, for example, a date in February and you'll see CX 828 and 826 to Toronto and CX 827 and CX 829 to Toronto.

Only 828/829 are listed as being YYZ via ANC. 826/827 seem to be non-stop.

I just checked with the link and CX826 goes into effect from December 5th and the CX 827 on the 6th.

what is confirmed is YYZ will receive nonstop from early 2008, that's what CXworld Oct Edition, their internal newsletter stated~

dunno if it is a new flight (2x daily)... or as a replacement flight of 828/829~

Just got an e-mail from CX announcing 10X/week YYZ-HKG.
I can't get the details to display.

Travellers now have more options when flying from Toronto to Hong Kong and beyond. Our new daily non-stop service combined with the popular three times weekly night service means that Cathay Pacific now offers 10 flights a week to Hong Kong from Toronto.

And, starting in February, Cathay Pacific will begin phasing in their new luxurious seats in First, Business and Economy Class cabins onto the non-stop flights.

Whichever schedule you choose, rest assured that you'll be able to conveniently connect to over 40 destinations across Asia.

It's 777-200 actually

It's a daily B773ER and 3/weekly A34D. And it would be nice if the mods can change the thread title to "10 weekly to YYZ from Feb 2008" since the title is obviously misleading... and gave me false hope when I first read it.

One question: In reality are there really any Torontonians who can afford to pay for First Class out of their own pocket? ;) I'd be very surprised and shocked if the answer is yes.

What kind of backwater place do you think Toronto is, exactly? While we aren't a nation of great extremes on the wealth spectrum, it is the financial capital of Canada. Not to mention, traffic goes two ways. Our connections to business as well as the entertainment industry do attract those who can afford to pay their way in first.
