1) Sling Box in combination with 2) RePlayTV (similar to Tivo, but it auto advances through commericals) is very good value.

This basically allows me to watch my TV at home from anywhere in the world.

I prefer a wifi/3G/phone/gps/media player...

GPRS is so 2002 :D

1. Noise cancelling headphones.
2. Multi-device power adapter.
3. USB cable extender cord...just about a foot with a male and female end.
4. Card reader for various types of flash memory...put your camera chip in it and plug it into the aforementioned cable at a business center.
5. 4 GB flash drive. Good for files or to move pictures from your camera chip to the flash drive for added back up by using the stuff in 3 and 4 above.
6. USB or PCMCIA wireless card in case your integrated wireless chip pukes on you.

And I'm not really a travel gadget guy at all.

TiVo doesn't advance through commercials? :confused: What has my TiVo been skipping since I got one in 2001 then? It advances my commercials in either fast forward OR 30-second skip....

You need to push a button on tivo for the skip, Replay can auto skip commercials (like the OP said...AUTO advances :D)

The 30 second skip button on Tivo isn't even enabled by default and until recently you had to turn it on again after every reboot...

Yeah, the ONE nice thing about the replays (okay there are some other nice things like CONTENT SHARING and SERVING BUILT IN) was the commercial advance using the commercial TAGS, and not just a standard 30 second skip. It only works AFTER the fact, not during live view playback, even delayed live view playback, but it was nice.

All things considered, it was the best feature, and the ONE feature that the media and content owners forced DM to kill in hardware and software since about 2004? I still have a couple of the units with full lifetime warranty sitting around, I should do something interesting with them.

When something comes along that I can use unlimited for $5.99 a month in both North America and Europe like I can now on T-Mobile, I'll take it.
