Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - New or old redemption rates?

Just booked Bristish Airway flights next summer, NY to Rome with AsiaMiles. I had no miles in the account and will be transferring them from Starwood.

The Business Class rates are 60,000 per ticket until Oct 15 and 80,000 thereafter. The website lists our reservations as Confirmed even though the points will take about 4 weeks to transfer. Anyone know which rate we'll have to pay - the rate at the time of booking or when the points actually make it into the account?

You need to ticket the booking by Oct 14 HKG time to qualify for the old mileage level. I am afraid it is too late for you as SPG transfers post on 11th and 25th of the month only. The next batch will credit on Oct 25th.

Well, that's a bummer.

OTOH, I'll be getting BC on BA from NY to Rome for 80,000 miles. The same ticket directly through BA was 120,000! Continental wanted 100,000 for Coach and 250,000 for Business Class.

Still the best deal out there.
