I flew CX F a few years ago, but not recently. What should I expect / ask for (eg Limo service at LHR)? I will be doing LHR-HKG-SYD-HKG-LHR. I have a few hours in HKG on the transfer, so should I use the Wing or ask them to book me a hotel? Thanks!

Which flights are you taking?

If you have a few hours to spare in HK, I'd highly suggest you to go into the city using the AEX. It's only about 23 minutes. Don't get me wrong, The Wing and The Pier are great lounges, but I wouldn't spend too much time there.

Agreed. If you have 3+ hours ditch the lounges and go into the city, Airport Express is so incredibly convenient there's no point not to. 24 minutes to Central and the trains run every 9 or 12 minutes like clockwork. Entry customs for non-HK residents can sometimes be 10-15 minutes, but exit customs (aka going back to the airport) are always a breeze and security, even when it's bad, won't take you more than 5 minutes. Pier/Wing are cool. . .but not that cool.

I agree - if you have a chance, nip into town...even if it is to walk around for an hour and soak up the wonderful energy that is Hong Kong!

Cathay are terrific in F - one of the best in the skies, IMHO. The crew are very attentive, and the amenities superb. I like the lounges, and they are a pleasant place to pass a bit of time. Personally, I like The Pier because it is quieter, but you are down one level, so you miss the loftiness that The Wing offers. CX, unlike BA, are able to offer premium baggage handling, and even get their premium boarding correct. They know what being FIRST is all about. With luck, you might even get a sampling of their new first class.

Have a great trip!

Thanks, people! The new F class in only on the morning flight out of London, I think :(

Any idea which flight it's on HKG-LHR? - Whoops! Just called CX and it's the 255, apparently. But that was after waiting about 15 mins to get through to them!

Which day are you flying LHR-HKG? On selected days 250 is op'd by 74A as well.

BTW, 255 is 74A daily except for Wednesdays. :D
