Worked out great for me, was able to replace a BMI DC reward booking ($300 & 11,500 miles in C) with a paid ticket for $269.

Moving down from C to Y on the old 767 is not to bad, and the miles always help!!!

This is almost my new strategy, book flights I need on certain dates with cash and miles via BMI DC, wait to see if there is a sale at any point, and replace my booking with a cheap fare. These is GBP25 fee to cancel, but even in the above example I value 11,500 miles above NZ$75.
