Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - Seat Advice for New Business Class

Just received notification of a seating change for an upcoming flight on CX888 to what appears to be the new business seats. I've searched and found little advice on seat selection, but am certain some here will have flown the new 747 cabin. What would be a recommended pair of J seats for a couple travelling together? We had been on the upper deck of the old config, but now the only seats are on opposite sides of the cabin. We have been assigned 11D/G on the lower deck, which at least appear to be adjacent. Is there an opening in the partition between the seats that will allow conversation (like BA), or alternately would side-by-side along the outer wall be better? Advice would be much appreciated as Seatguru has not been updated and Seatexpert is still awaiting comment fields.
Seats 11DG are facing back to back like this - \ /. If I were you I'd take 81A and 82A. I've travelled twice on the 74A, and have found side-by-side seats to be better when travelling together. There is additional storage space on the top of 81A as well.
I try to find the same info the OP asking, but no one seems to know.
Anyway, I decided to go for the two adjacent seats on the windows side like the above poster said.
As debated on the forum before, I don't think any of the seats are particular good for couples.

The video screen is in the way of possible partition between seats, so there really is not much choices for couples. Sharing a meal using the guest chair is about as close to being together as you can on board without joining certain clubs.

I thought the ottoman wasn't supposed to be used as a seat.

They do have a sticker saying No Seat, but the ISM told me they do allow pax to sit there after take off and also not during turbulence as there are no seat belts.

Yes, I think this is similar to BA and Virigin's policies regarding their J ottoman as well. By the way, the CX J tray seems to be much smaller than the VS one, it might be quite crowded sharing the meal.
Edited to add that the CX Ottoman is too small and too triangular for my large behind, one of my cheeks have to sit on the raised edge of the Ottoman. On VS, while it is tight, I could at least sit on the flat surface of their ottoman, and perhaps they even have a guest seat belt as well.
