I need to rent a car at CHS from a Friday to Monday in December. I tired to read posts about CDP's etc but got confused. I am an AAA member but do not belong to any other car club. I collect Delta miles as well.
Any advice on how to get the cheapest rate? A midsize car is fine.
Thanks!!

For the AAA discount use the 3 digit club code for the CDP. This is listed on your card.
On hertz.com there is a section for AAA coupons under offers & specials - you should be able to use one of those codes for a weekend rental.

Also there are some different coupons if you go to aaa.com/hertz and click on the special offers link. All the offers will have a "PC#" usually 6 or 7 digits that you can enter on the Hertz.com site when making a reservation. This is in addition to the CDP. (They go on two separate lines.) But. They may alter the rate, so you should check with and without the coupons just to be sure. In general, though, if you use AAA CDP and an AAA coupon that's valid for the weekend and car class you want, it should all work.
With a Friday to Monday you should get a pretty good weekend rate with the AAA CDP. As was mentioned above, this is just your club code. Yes, even if it's a single digit number. It's possible that the time you return on Monday will make a difference in the rate, but I think you'll be safe even if it's all day. Keep in mind that if it's early Friday and late Monday this will be a 4-day rental.

Your local AAA website will have a hertz page with discounts too, and if you start there you don't have to put in your code, it should do it for you.
Also check the airline sites, occasionally they have better codes from what you can get from AAA.
If any of the local HLE's are participating down there, you can get 50% off the rate on top of the AAA discount. We need a second car next weekend, and the AAA and 50% gets it for us for a total cost of $54 from Friday to Monday. Not gonna argue with that.
Under the Special offers section on the Hertz site, keep playing around till you find the best rate, there's no real one that is always the best, sometimes with the right combinations you can get a car for very little money. So little they may be amazed at the counter and ask how on earth you managed that rate.:)

Thanks for all your suggestions. Ended up getting a decent price with Priceline...$5 cheaper per day than AAA.
