Anyone have any experience with renting a Ford Mustang from the Fun collection? Equipment, etc?

I'm not sure about the fun collection, but I believe Hertz carries mustangs in the D and H class, usually D being the V6 and H the GT with the V8. All the ones I've rented were of the H type, the GT Premium trim (leather, upgraded 500watt sound system, heated seats, etc)

Thank you for replying. Is there any way to request a GT with the V8, leather, etc. I think with the fun collection you are actualy reserving the Mustang. I think I read it comes with Sirius. If anyone actually made a reservation for the stang in the fun collection, tell me about it.

Where did you get a GT? Was it the GT-H or a regular GT?

The standard v6 Mustang in the "fun collection" isn't all that fun. Only around 200 HP and it takes 9 seconds to get to 60! The suspension is way too soft and steering too numb to be fun.

I get the GT (not GT-H) from YUL all the time, like I said it's a premium-classed car, and non-reservable. I've gotten the GT also in the YU-class (specialty convertible) and with 300hp, I would say it hits 60 in about 6 seconds, and the steering is still pretty numb, although I do love turning off the traction control and doing a smoke show! The sad part is that I find both the 200hp V6 and 300hp V8 are quite dismal in fuel economy (18/26 and 17/23 city/hwy respectively). The 4.6L V8 in the GT is the same as the engine in a F-150 if I'm not mistaken.

Might I also add that I find it pretty pathetic that american engineers can only squeeze 210hp out of a 4L engine and 300hp out of 4.6L engine, while a Infiniti G35 with a 3.5L has a 300hp output, or even an Lexus IS250 that has a 2.5L under the hood is pushing 200hp. Although nothing does come close to the rumbling V8 engine sounds in the GT :D

Yeah they are around because the lease rates are great on the V8 models. Very spotty...
