Amtrak Guest Rewards - Acela AGR points with stopover question

I have ONE ticket that has 2 legs: WAS - NYP, NYP - BOS

WAS - NYP the first day, and then on the next day, I have the NYP - BOS portion, all on AE.

How many AGR points will I get? Is it considered one trip (and thus 500 points) or two (1000 points)?

I'm asking this since I'm pretty close to select and every point counts. :) Plus, it was much cheaper to book it this way rather than 2 one ways!

EDIT: It's one RESERVATION, not one ticket. Two different train numbers.

It's one trip if the two tickets are on the same train number.

I assume you mean one reservation with one reservation number, but two paper tickets (since you must have a separate ticket for each train). It will be two trips: 500 points each.

Yeah, you're right. It is two train numbers, so when I go to print them, I'll get 2 tickets.

I'm assuming that once I use the first leg I will not be able to get a refund on the second one?

Depending on the restrictions on the fare used, you may get a partial refund. But you will not receive the 500 points for the 2nd segment - because the ticket was not used and collected by the conductor! :(
