Flying Blue (Air France, KLM, and Other Partners) - Strange Flying Blue Upgrade gift

Today I received a strange gift via post. A flying blue upgrade gift to Gold status. The funny thing is, that I am already gold. I complained after a late and rerouted flight on september first. At this time I was silver, but a week later I had two other flights and then I was gold again. But my complaint was after the flights and the gift has no value for me now.
