My most recent flights on UA were excellent on almost every level and since this is the most consistent trip I've had in a long time, I thought it worth mentioning. The highlights:

As a 1K (and booked in NF) I approached the FC checkin line. All three FC agents were busy. Service director standing between the lines assured me that someone would be right with me. Agent checking me in was very polite, smiled, and thanked me for my business. Off to bag drop and security.

RCC check in was a different agent than I normally have. Still very polite and personal, welcoming me.

Flight boarded by the red carpet. Invited all GS/1K's with FC pax. Offered PDB OJ/Water (but I didn't take any). Settled into 5A waiting for pushback. Cabin was clean!

Captain comes on speaker after boarding finished (about 8 min. early for a full 752). Had a problem with oil level in LH engine...had to start engine at gate and he wanted to give us a 'heads up'. Thought that was a good announcement ^ After about 40 min. of mucking around with the oil (Timco contractors overfilled the oil...) we were good to go. Flight departed 45 min. late but only landed 20 min. past schedule.

Purser took meal orders back to front before departure. Asked me what I was having (not for my 'first choice').

Less than 20 min. in flight, first beverage arrived. Had one more chance for refill before breakfast. I had the eggs and potatoes with fruit and danish...all flavorful.

FA's were constantly walking the cabin for refills, etc. While I napped for about 30 min., I was always asked if I wanted something (and had a few coffee's). This is usually the most inconsistent part of the service...beverage refills, and this crew was perfect.

FO or Capt. points out a couple of points of interest along the way. Follwed channel 9 some on the flight. Usually the cockpit crew is fairly quiet on the transcons but had a couple of 'scenic' announcements.
Jetbridge moved as soon as the wheels blocked up. Went to RCC in SFO and check-in staff was pleasant, and thanked me for my business.
flight to SEA was ontime and full. Boarded to 2C on the red carpet. Brought a sandwhich with me and FA offered to take my trash before departure. Offered PDB.
Full 320 had its doors closed 9 min. before departure and we pushed back immediately (caught by surprise as I was trying to make a phone call). Taxied out early. Listened to Ch9.

After the normal wait for the 1R departure, we're off to SEA due to land 18 min. early. FA offered drinks 15 min. into flight.
All FA's offered refills as they passed through the cabins. I had a couple more coffees as I worked on my computer. Had working empower on BOTH flights! Excellent service on this short flight. Cabin was clean.

On arrival, took train to baggage claim. Bags arrived less than 20 min. from wheels-down...quite the improvement for SEA!

All in all, this was the most consistently good flight/service from UA in a very long time for me. I am happy that at least these crews are 'getting it' from a CS perspective.

Absolutely correct - UA is most inconsistent when it comes to beverage service. My experience with other airlines has conditioned me to expect it to come right after take off and seatbelt light goes off, and this is not the case.
