Arrived in BOS this evening. I've NEVER seen such a full Hertz lot. There were cars everywhere you could imagine; even parked along curbs and in bus parking areas (with spare buses parked on the street outside). As I pulled out of my space to leave there was a car jockey waiting to pull another in its place.
The interesting thing about this is that it made actual car availability very limited -- even though the lot was chock-a-block with cars, the agents only had access to the cars in the gold spaces plus another 100 or so elsewhere, because lots of the area where they would typically be able to access ready-to-go cars were blocked-in with cars. According to the agents, mid September through mid October is the busiest time at BOS due to colleges starting and the fall travel season in New England.
I remarked to the security agent at the check-out about the overflowing lot and he said, "if you come back in 24 hours, we'll be almost empty"!
