OK, I generally dont' stay at BWs, and every time I stay at one, I am painfully reminded as to why. On this stay, I am here because there aren't any other choices due to the huge trade show in town.
Anyway, I am sitting here in my freezing cold room, which I reported to reception over an hour ago - no joy yet. I plan on "reminding" reception again in a few minutes how intolerable this situation is - I literally have to wear a coat to be in the room. Needless to say, it is not pleasant to be here. (The lobby and other parts of the hotel, however, are warm, so I may head over to the bar soon until this is sorted out)
I would add that when I first brought up the cold room to reception, I was told that it was warm enough and nothing could be done about it. When I said that someone should come down to my room and see how cold it was for themselves, I was told that the manager would be informed. (Not exactly stellar customer service I'd say)
This is totally unacceptable, but sadly, on par with other BW experiences I've had, especially in Europe where the empahsis on CS is often rather poor.
I'd also note that although I booked and was assigned a non-smoking room (and it clearly indicates this on the door and in the room), someone had clearly smoked in the room. I mentioned this to the bellman, who also didn't care. Since I was tired when I checked in, I didn't fight it much, and aired the room out myself. (Still stinks, though)
Anyway, I am off to reception to complain again.
