Last Saturday we had our first Jet Blue experience. We flew IAD-JFK-AUA. I LOVED the Direct TV although we lost it 1/2 way or so to Aruba. They left the movie channels on for free.
When checking in at IAD, we were told the IAD-JFK leg was delayed 3 hour mechanical. We had a 3 hour layover in JFK, but still would not make our flight. No additional flights to AUA were scheduled until the next day.
They worked us into an 8:55 flight to JFK that would arrive 5 mins before departure to AUA. They held the other flight and we simply walked from one gate, across the "cul de sac" at JFK onto the AUA flight and took off.
I was getting concerned on arrival at AUA. All luggage had come out except for the 4 of us and a few other that were on the IAD flight. The belt had been turned off and they started having us fill out baggage claims. THEN the guys radio squawked that they had found "a few more bags" and everyone on the IAD flight watched their luggage come out on the belt. ^ As a 6' 5" 280 pound fellow, I can tell you that buying off of the rack is difficult for me. I was thrilled to see my bags!.
I am sure people simply going to JFK were inconvenienced and others may have had delayed connections. They would deserve compensation. However, we arrived on time. I got an email today that everyone in our party will receive a $50 credit towards a future flight.
I never refuse compensation, but I certainly didn't expect it in this case.
