Can anyone tell me which of the three flights from LHR to SIN has the highest loads in business class? I'm trying to make a redemption booking for a freind and there is only the option to be added to the waitlist. They don't mind when they fly so I'm looking for the one with the highest chance of a seat becoming available.
I would have thought the mid day flight would be the emptiest, followed by early evening. Anyone have a suggestion as tow hich I should target?

Is very hard to determine which one has less capacity in C since LHR-SIN vv is very popular route, so what I suggest is get all three flights on waitlisted status. Normally 11:00 or 12:00 noon and 22:15 hrs flight are the busiest. Last time I flew on C at 18:30 hrs flight on paid C and the flight was fully booked and once managed to get F seat on upgrade from C at 12:00 noon flight. So everything is possible and also based on luck.

Sunday morning is sometimes quiet in C.
If necessary there's also MAN-SIN, FRA-SIN, CPH-SIN, AMS-SIN etc but there's no more C awards on CDG-SIN, ZRH-SIN or any of the 77Ws.

Having had to scout for tickets on LHR-SIN and v.v. Ive figured the midnight flight to be the most packed, it connects well into SIN and gets all the early birds onwards out of LHR.
The morning flight also is bad for this reason, it still catches the late afternoon flights up to Scandinavia and western Europe.
The noon flight seems to be more timed more just O&D and would as such have a lighter load.

Interesting... I tend to travel on the SQ317 (ETD 1100hrs) and based on what I saw, it tends to be less busy compared to the 1830hrs or 2215hrs flight.
You should have more chance too on a weekday. As other poster rightly commented, do try other nearby airports.
Sign up to the NH FFP, and use their availability tool which usually mirrors availability on starnet quite closely. :)

This mirrors my experience too, the mid day flights always have light loads. Expert Flyer shows J wide open, but when I go to the redemption booking page, I can't even wait list for this flight, only early evening and late evening.
Am I being stupid here. Lets say they have sold their redemption seats for that flight and my mother joins a waitlist, I'm assuming that when she turns up at the counter, if a J seat is left unsold then she will get it? Or is it the case that they would rather see her in Y because they only ever allow so many redemption seats on one flight?
I thought it was pragmatism on SQs part. Let's try and sell all the seats but if any are unsold then we'll let people use their miles on the day.

I don't have the answer as I don't have inside knowledge how the waitlist process works.
What I have done was to wait list on a flight that did not show any availability on the online redemption page. Nevertheless, I telephoned SQ and asked to be put on waitlist. After about 2 rounds of being on the wait list,it cleared 3 days before travel. Close. I believed what helped was my status with them.
My advice is to call SQ. Do you have status with them? Fingers crossed for you and Good luck.
