American Express Membership Rewards - Amex Giftcards = any promotions/rewards?

Looked through the forum but could not find anything here or elsewhere - are there any benefits or promotions going on for Amex Gift cards? I need to buy $750 worth, not a whole lot but would not mind doubling it if there is a promo.

If you enrolled in the Bonus Points-A-Thon with Hilton today (the 15th) is the last day you can get 250 Hilton Bonus points each time you log on and make a AMEX gift card purchase.
