I am scheduled to fly on an Asiana 747 from LAX - ICN in the near future in Business Class. Do any of the 747's have the new Business Class or is it the standard old business class seat? Also, I can't tell from the Asiana web site if there is really power ports on the 747's in Business. If any of you can provide feedback from a recent (last few months) flight in Business, it would be most appreciated.

I have not read anything positive about the 747's in Business Class on Asiana. However, I hear great reviews about the 777's. Most feedback has been bad seats in Business on the 747's, but great in-flight service.

Your input will be appreciated.

Cheers,

As far as I know the 747 have not been upgraded and probably never will. I do recall someone saying they have seen photos of the new First class seat tyet o be installed on the 747. I also think that some are in the process of being converted into full freighters, but some anettter would probably know.
Hard product is outdated recliner, no PC power, IFE is loop small PTV, if it works. OZ on the 747 only have their cabin service to reccommend to it and if you do not like the sensational Korean food that is served their western stlye meals are also nice.

I flew the passenger version a couple of weeks ago from JFK. I think the LAX is on a combi but the layout is basically the same. The seats are not real good. I would try to get the exit row upstairs or the bulkhead, on the side downstairs. In the other seats, once the person in front of you reclines, you can't move.

The IFE screen is small and the choice isn't great with no on demand. Bring your own DVD and headphones if you can afford the space.

Service is good and the food isn't bad. Try the Korean mean one way. It is interesting.

Lounge is very nice, don't miss it but also walk around the airport. ICN is exactly what an airport should be!

Good luck!
