I think a non-stop can certainly happen. If you look at carriers such a Turkish and Finnair, they both started out with stops in BKK. Now, both carriers operate a non-stop to HKG.

I'm looking at RJ to BKK and it says it is on A320's and A310's? What are the business class seats like? If like a Euro configuration I don't think I could take that for 9 hours.

Press release about the BKK/HKG flight says it'll be using "newly refurbished" A310s. Not sure if it means those a/c are getting the BC seats found in the A340s.

BC seats on the 320-series a/c is real BC. Not quite int'l BC standards (well, maybe of 20 years ago) but much better than U.S. domestic FC. Didn't sit in one but I passed them on my way to the back (for LCA-AMM and AMM-CAI flights). There are a few TRs floating around.

I am looking at traveling ORD/AMM/BKK in april and at that time, the equipment changes to a A340, the same aircraft that operates TA

So check your dates- If A340, then especially in J, it will be quite nice,
yes early dates are on narrow body

Last July when I flew BKK-AMM in RJ C it was the worst business class seat and experience I have ever had on a "long haul" route. The seat was ancient and the whole business class smelled of urine because there was some problem with the lavatories.
