In the Qantas club waiting for the 9.25am dep, delayed to 11.30, eta syd 22.20 (hope to beat the curfew), no reason given, Y pax given HKG$55 for bfast (voucher), received a sms this mn advising of the delay (received when I woke), so had an extra snooze in. I note that QF97 from BNE last night was 6 hrs late into HKG, perhaps delay due to crew rest.

There are also, and have been some serious delays on the LHR route. BA10 SYD - BKK is 1280 minutes late. There was a SIN-LHR flight that was also heavily delayed but I can't lay my finger on it at the moment.

That's not good. Now I'm wondering if I've allowed enough time in my many OW flights and transfers next month.

the crew of QF97 bne to hkg arrv late to bne (as F/O went sick) and they got into hkg at 12 midnight, hotel at 1am, so they had to rest for the 9.30am dep, so qantas gave them 2 more hrs shut eye

Greetings from The Wing FLounge, having just deplaned from QF187 - which arrived right on time. Be interesting to see if tonight's QF188 is on time, as there was a non-functioning loo in Y.
For IainF - your prediction of my WT+ HKG-LHR BP rejecting was correct. :)

One of the nicest sounds to hear when travelling is the "reject" beep from the boarding card reader. :D
Enjoy the Rugby...
Here's hopiong you get the beep on the way back as well.
Cheers

except when travelling 1-class domestic flights - no good can come of that when already in the best seat on the a/c

Agreed... Unless the pilot is looking for a new friend.

We we both originally on the waitlist for a points upgrade, then we decided to cancel it QF188 being a daylight flight, both our boarding cards were rejected in the reader, the lady just waived us thrum we were almost the last to board, I wonder if we had got to the gate earlier we might have scored an OP upgrade, as we noticed the J class cabin was full, and y class only about 70% full. I looked on seat counter before the flight took off and saw theree were heaps of empty revenue seats on the flight.

Wot?
KF OT?

PS - NNCW very good indeed - a bit better than Skybed IMHO. AVOD did not work the entire flight, service patchy, food patchy...

Had the beeps flying back on a 3pm flight MEL-SYD having bumped the flight forward an hour before (and changed seating allocation at QuickCheck from 46K to 25J - I'll give up the window for 20 rows).
Beeped four times as the girl tried to load it from every direction. Then sent me over to the other desk, and I started to feel happy, where they duly printed out a boarding pass for 25J ...

Sounds like a typical BA flight to me :D. Ahhh that beeping feeling. Only ever had it once on QF.
