Asiana Club - *A Award: Book C get Y on 2 class?

Hey all,
I know SQ will put you in Y on 2 cabin planes on a *A award ticket. Will OZ do the same? I'm looking at doing a C award ticket to WAS-ICN next summer. I'd like the new C if possible, but I don't want to get stuck in Y on that long of a flight.
Thanks,
Super

SQ is the only one has that rule. It is only for the regional segments and only for UA issued awards.
You will be fine on OZ. Just book through SEA or SFO to get the new C.:)

Thanks.
Looking at my options, I'm seeing a good bit of availility on AC as well. Anywone know how they compare against the Asian carriers? I see they have some flights with suites.
Thanks,
Super

Doesn't LAX have those as well?

If I book that ticket, I'll be charged for C miles and not F, correct?

Is there a way to tell which routes/planes have the new suites?

Thanks. AC and NH's website is saying a 77W is available for YYZ-ICN on AC0965 in July of next year with a seat available. I just might grab that. :)

For that long route, you are most certainly will get a 777-300ER with AC. The seats are really good, the food is so so and the entertainment is above average.

I'm particularly more interestsed in the seat as it's similar to UA's F. As I don't want to spend the miles for F, I figure this might be a good way to experience something like F on C miles. :)

Isn't that because SQ has only F & Y on SIN-KUL?

OZ's looking like it's harder to do. Debating whether I want to go in UA F to/from SFO. Not that it's bad ... I'd just rather have real C than domestic F. :)
Hard to get the SFO flight without going to SFO the night before or taking a next day flight out to BWI if I want a nonstop. Might work if I went out of IAD.
Would this be a valid routing for the way out: IAD-JFK-SFO-ICN? Then I could try out PS and that would be worth it. :)

The routing is valid, but remember that OZ's star alliance award is calculated by traveled mileage, not by region so if your connections increase total mileage travelled, you may have to spend extra mileage. ;)

Even with UA miles? How is the mileage calculated when it seems like the *A chart is a flat rate?

With UA miles, your routing needs to fall within MPM or your routing needs to be valid, published routing. I know for sure it will exceed MPM (as my JFK-LAX-ICN did according to UA agent), the question is whether IAD-JFK-SFO-ICN is a valid, published routing which I don't know if it is or isn't.

What's MPM?

What's MPM?
Maximum Permitted Mileage.
It's how far you can fly between two cities within the fare rule. MPM is not published, so you'll need to call UA and ask.
