I don't usually make it a lot to SIN, but will be in Singapore for 8 hours on the 18th, what are things to do and see? Plus, what lounge(s) should I go crash with my Biz tix on THAI.
Thanks a lot;)

Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus - Lounge access in SINView Full Version : Lounge access in SIN nnl3823 Sep 7, 07, 8:42 pm I don't usually make it a lot to SIN, but will be in Singapore for 8 hours on the 18th, what are things to do and see? Plus, what lounge(s) should I go crash with my Biz tix on THAI. Thanks a lot;) dfs24 Sep 7, 07, 9:56 pm Think you would be given access to the SATS premium lounge. SKL is only for SQ passengers. hclee01 Sep 7, 07, 10:32 pm Well, besides hanging out at either the SATS Premium Lounge or TG Lounge (Do note that TG lounges operates limited hours), you may wish to consider taking the free 2-hour Day Sightseeing Tour. To find out more about the tour and how to register for the tour, you can visit the following the website at: http://www.changiairport.com/changi/en/airport_guide/exp_changi/rest_n_relax/free_sgtour.html Have a fun time in Singapore! Savage25 Sep 7, 07, 10:38 pm Think you would be given access to the SATS premium lounge. SKL is only for SQ passengers. Incorrect. With a departing TG business boarding pass, OP can access the SKL C. dfs24 Sep 7, 07, 10:43 pm Incorrect. With a departing TG business boarding pass, OP can access the SKL C. Thanks for the correction. I think i got mixed up with *G holders. Apparently *G only get access to SATS lounge? Can someone confirm? Savage25 Sep 7, 07, 10:45 pm Thanks for the correction. I think i got mixed up with *G holders. Apparently *G only get access to SATS lounge? Can someone confirm? Yes, in T2. Or the TG lounge in T1. TGFan Sep 7, 07, 11:44 pm I was at the TG lounge in SIN last week. It had been remodeled to fit the new corporate identity. The food (hot and cold) and beverage were good. The seating was nice and quiet. There were some internet stations and a phone for use. Personally, I think the SQ lounge was too crowded and loud. Enjoy! In my experience, when travelling TG C, your lounge choices are as follows: Term 2 SATS Premier Lounge only. SKL for SQ C pax only Term 1 THAI Lounge, or the T1 SATS Premier Lounge (maybe?). See here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=366546&highlight=thai+business+kris A_Lee Sep 8, 07, 1:35 am I think Thai-Kiwi is correct. You have to be a SQ C passenger to get into the SKL lounge. The SATS lounge in T2 isn't very good with old soiled chairs, not very good selection of food or drinks, out of order computers, crowded, etc. The TG lounge isn't great either but at least the furniture is better, not crowded and working computers. I didn't like the poor food selection though in the TG lounge. The TG lounge closes at 8PM. There's also an ANA lounge in T1 but I think it doesn't open until about 8PM or sometime after. I've never been in that lounge and don't know if they'll allow other airline passengers in or not. BKK is far superior for *A lounge access with the Royal Silk Lounges than is SIN. dfs24 Sep 8, 07, 1:59 am Thank you for the clarification. Seems like I was right. *G or TG C, both do not have access to SKL. moocherx Sep 8, 07, 2:13 am Thank you for the clarification. Seems like I was right. *G or TG C, both do not have access to SKL. Can confirm, 2 weeks ago turned away from SKL lounge and pointed to the SATS lounge which I hadn't seen coming up the escalator. That was for *G travelling Y on SQ. onlysuites Sep 8, 07, 4:52 am I beg to differ. In my experience, when travelling TG C, your lounge choices are as follows: Term 2 SATS Premier Lounge only. You are correct, J or F on a Star Alliance airline will get you into the SKL C or SKL F, respectively. Unless TG has a special system with SQ, you will have access. Star Golds only get SATS, though... Savage25 Sep 8, 07, 11:08 am A departing *A F or C boarding pass will get you access to the SKL F or C. *G status is irrelevant. End of story. I probably got a fresher? MAN Flyer Sep 10, 07, 7:00 am Possibly. Or maybe they know you used to be a KL Plat and decided to punish you accordingly. :D BTW, the SKL access ladies are having a bit of a hard time of it at the moment as the new PPS lounge access rules have just kicked in and they are having to deal with a number of irate PPS members who can no longer access the F side. onlysuites Sep 10, 07, 7:24 am Possibly. Though, I've read that after recent change in access rule, C side is rather busy and finding a place to sit is hard during peak time  MAN Flyer Sep 10, 07, 1:26 pm I don't usually make it a lot to SIN, but will be in Singapore for 8 hours on the 18th, what are things to do and see? Just going back to this particular issue, I would definitely head into town with an 8 hour layover. I have previously booked a room for layovers of this length and gone for something to eat and a few drinks, back to the Hotel to shower/change then head back to Changi. What sort of things are you interested in. Shopping, sightseeing, eating, drinking ?. kkjay77 is correct. If no, what other options do I have to take a shower in one of the lounges in T1? (C ticket on OZ + *G) Where is the TG lounge located in T1? Hi, it's easy to locate and well signed. As you enter, turn left and UP the escalators. It's the first lounge at the top, in front of QF. It is smallish but well stocked regrettably there are no showers. If you have OW accreditation, the QF lounge behind is ideal. The fitness centre, transit lounge and the sauna all have showers and prices vary from $3-$10SD. hope I have helped regards bkkrop A_Lee Nov 27, 07, 12:39 am Indeed the SIN TG lounge has no showers. In that respect the SATS lounge is better but everytime I visit the SATS lounge it's packed and there is a long wait for a shower. You may be out of luck if you arrive at a busy time. I prefer the TG lounge because even though it's small and doesn't have much, at least I've never seen it overly packed like the SATS lounge. In my opinion niether lounge has a very good selection of food/drinks. I much prefer to transfer at BKK rather than SIN as a Y *G passenger. For all the praises people throw at SIN it's not nearly as good as BKK for me because of the poor lounges. vishal407 Nov 28, 07, 7:48 pm Indeed the SIN TG lounge has no showers.
