My latest #1 Gold account summary says I have 4 qualifying rentals (YTD). I think I had 9 as of closing date of the statement. Anyone else experiencing such discrepancies?

":confused: Since I know I've got at least 33 rentals this year, and have recieved 2 coupons for a Free Rental Days, I was a bit confused, so I called Hertz #1 Club Gold. First person I got, looked up my account, and told me yes the info as wrong, as he showed I only had 2 rentals this year and my last was in Jan '08. So I called back and the next person told me I had less points-- but was close on the rentals-- with 23. Finally third call, told me my account showed the proper number of rentals 33, but still no clue as to what the Qualifying Rental Balance was and why most people show the #4 on it. (he did tell me others have called saying their QRB was also listed at 4 no matter how many rentals they had.) He also told me to make sure I update my Profile ??? There is nothing on my profile that's incorrect-- and I don't know what that has to do with the QRB #?? Does anyone have more information on this ? jmd001 May 15, 08, 6:58 am Does anyone have more information on this ? The explanation that I got (and which I think sounds correct) is that " Qualifying Rental Balance" is the number of qualifying rentals since your last free day coupon was issued (the number of rentals that count toward your NEXT free day), NOT the number of qualifying rentals during the calendar (or "qualifying") year toward 5* status. My "as of 12/31/07" electronic statement (the most recent one I can quickly find) showed Qualifying Rentals = 7, which was way less than my CY07 quantity of rentals, and about right for the number of rentals since my last free-day coupon. They should include both numbers in the online data ... and more clearly label the quantities. In your case, 33 rentals = 2 free days (based on 15 rentals per coupon) + 3 more qualifying rentals (which ~= 4!) I think the math works ... approximately. :D |
