Sorry if this has been posted. I was trying the different promo offers and found this.

Important Update

In many cases, the cost of #1 Awards will increase effective March 1, 2008. For example, the cost of a Free Day Non-Peak Certificate will increase from 500 Points to 600 Points.

And a reminder, in case anybody needed it, Hertz points EXPIRE so check your balance to see how much you'll have remaining at the end of the year. I have about 2000 to use up.

This increase in rates is a good reason to perhaps use a few more this year..

And it looks like the Gold annual fee has gone up to $60. I didn't see any notice, but happened to click into the chart showing the differences between Gold, 5*, & PC which shows the new rate.

While there has always been a listed fee, I've never heard of them charging anyone for renewal.

I just went & looked at it & am confused. Maybe I am not looking at something right.

1 day - 600 pts
2 days - 1200 pts
3 days - 1900 pts (why is the 3rd day more than the first 2?)
4 days - 2600 pts
1 week - 2500 pts (why is 4 days less than 1 week? I hope they don't change the 1 week rate as that is what I normally redeem my points for.)

My guess on the 4 days vs. 1 week is that the 4 days can be all weekdays (more expensive) whereas the 7 days has to include a weekend, so business travelers wouldn't be able use it.
As for the increase on the 3rd day, you got me.
