JetBlue TrueBlue - Kiosks at MCO
What's up with the Kiosks at MCO? Having them in front of the desk agents seems kind of silly. I waited in line for a good 1/2hr to check my bag. The system at BOS seems much better where you self check your bag and then walk up the counter with your bag. I would hate to have been not checking a bag and been able unable to get my boarding pass without standing in that horrendous line.

Continental and Northwest has their kiosks at the counters also at many of thier locations (such as CO at EWR and NW at LGA). It not to uncommon to see that in the airline industry.

I agree with the awful locations of some of B6's kiosks. At SEA and PIT they are right by the counter as well. Very often in SEA, the line bunches up so you can't tell if you are by the kiosks or the regular check in line. In PIT, you have so few people making a rush at check in that you don't feel it as much, but B6 should really organize the smaller stations a little better.
I know it's on a much smaller scale, but I think B6 is very well laid out in AUS. The kiosks are angled off to the side and there's plenty of open space between them and the desk to drop off bags.

CO is like this in MCO as well. I'm pretty sure AA is, too.
I think that it comes down to how much space is available and whether they have power/network connectivity available in the middle of the waiting area or if it is only at the desks. Remember that most of these airports were laid out well before the self-service approach, so they focused on space for lines, not for service stations.
