This builds on another thread about flight #92, but I wanted to start a new discussion for it because unlike me the other poster was trying to avoid this route, I'm trying to make it.
So I booked my LAS-JFK return via LGB with a connection in SLC (November 3rd)
However a month later Jet Blue sent me an e-mail that I would have to eliminate my SLC stopover. Why? I have no idea, but I agreed thinking that flight has been/or is being eliminated, but I'm checking online right now and it still exists.
So that being said, is it possible for me to go standby once I'm in LGB to still fly this route via SLC?
Instead of sitting in Long Beach for two hours? I'd rather be flying even if its out of the way.
Any suggestions?

PS. I know there's absolutely no reason to go this route, especially since I'm on my award ticket and could have easily flown direct LAS-JFK, but since I've never been to LGB and SLC I figured why not check it out and kill some time at an end of a vacation.
