On Aug 14th I rented a car from Alamo for 16 days. Was told that I had to pay for a full tank of fuel (£54 or $108approx) and leave as little as possible in tank on return. I queried this, perviously they added a fuel deposit charge to credit card, but refunded it on returning car with full tank. Lady at desk said policy now was to charge for full tank for any rental over 5 days. Luckilly I was doing a lot of mileage and was able to judge how much i need to return to airport with minimum in tank. Would much prefer the policy of out full and return full. Car was a VW Jetta diesel which gave good mileage, 500 miles on tank, especially as fuel is approx $1.95 a litre!
