The Federal Aviation Administration has launched an investigation into a second so-called runway incursion reported in two weeks on the northern runway at Los Angeles International Airport, officials said Tuesday.
A Continental Airlines Boeing 737 had just arrived from Newark, N.J., entered a taxiway and crossed the hold bars on the north runway, where an American Airlines Boeing 737 was taking off to Miami just before 10 p.m. Saturday, according to Laura Brown, an FAA spokeswoman.
