had to return my Shure E500's due to the tip breaking off on one of the earbuds, scared me since they are $$$.. Talked to shure and filled out the form. Sent it out fedex, arrived there last monday. Talked to them today since I haven't heard anything and the guy said they were sent out yesterday via UPS. Asked him if it cost anything, said nope.

Props to Shure... great customer service and warranty....

Just wondering if they are replacing the earphones or did they repair them?

Agree with you there.

Had similar problem last year. Bought some in the US and a few months later tips came off.

Emailed UK Customer Service and one of their sales guys phoned me the next day. He spoke with one of the VP's and they said send them in (I couldn't find the original receipt so was worried they wouldn't take them back). By the end of the week, new ones had arrived (completely new sealed package)! ^ ^ ^

spoke with them today to get a tracking #. very professional and helpful, kind of a surprise. Should have them on friday.

I asked them if they fixed them or replaced them, she said they replaced them for me.

Kind of amazing with a $500 product and them just replacing it vs fixing it. I'm blown away. Have two pairs of shure's (e3c and e500's), and swear by them.

The tip of my E3C also came off, and since I only live about 15 minutes away from their Niles, IL, headquarters, I stopped by. I handed them my headphones (no box, receipt, accessories, etc.!) and they handed me a brand new box in about 10 minutes. They even let me choose a different color. The warranty period was reset, so I've got another 3 or so years with this set. Totally painless, and I am now a Shure customer for life.

Shures warrantey service is really great.
I am on my third pair of EC2 phones (once the cord broke and once a speaker died). Both times Shure replaced them without batting an eye. A full new retail package.

The EC2 come with a round case, which stores the phones, I believe that the breakage in the wiring comes directly from using this case.

Either way, the product is really good, and the company behind it gets big kudos.
