wow. that is appalling.

"It would be bad enough if it were just US Airways' on-time performance that was in tatters. But the physical condition of the transatlantic cabins is disastrous."

If this kind of press doesn't kill US, nothing will. That's why they call 'em cockroaches, I guess... no matter what depths the outfit sinks to, it's unkillable.

I took US scare last June to LGW because it was $400 less than UA. It was one of the worst decisions of my life. 31 in pitch and 17in width and having to deal with PHL. flights were about 60 minutes delayed both directions. miserable experience. I should have paid more for United where I get access to E+...

Check the CEO's internal response in the US forum. Basically "yes, we suck, but not as badly as Joe says".

Well that makes me feel better.

US has a crappy domestic product that is just slightly above WN standards. Wouldn't it then stand to reason that their int'l product would be just as depressing?

Having survived a pair of lovely SFO-PHL and LAX-CLT transcons on their stellar A321 fleet, I would rather canoe across the Atlantic then brave an int'l flight. My max in a US plane is 2 hours; 1 hour if it's on a CRJ900 with the church pews for seats.

People want low fares but when the service sucks they wish they would provide UA or insert your favorite airline "here" service for US prices. Until enough people experience the U.S Airways service and decide never again, then US will still be flying.
