Since my first-line phone varies and tends to be a more or less bulky smartphone, I wanted to replace my current second-line phone (a Nokia 1100 which has served me very well when I'm in Europe).
After much browsing and checking I went for the smallest (and lightest) phone I could find, the VK Mobile VK2000.
It's credit card sized, weighs 2oz (48 g) and has a volume of only 1,3 fl.oz.
Features? Not a lot, Wap 2.0, quad-band, calender (no pc-sync available), world-clock.
Do I like it? Yes! It's shorter than say the Samsung X820 which might get bent in a snug pocket and about 50% lighter.
I'm sure it will have issues, but for light use it's close to perfect.
Additional features I would have appreciated are:
-A better web-browser (or a b/w display for better visibility in direct sunlight)
-Bluetooth connection
-Standard mini-b type usb connector instead of proprietary one
-An extra battery
These issues would have been addressed with the VK2020 which comes in at 53 g.
I bought the VK2000 for 55 euros brand new and the VK2020 can be bought for about $120.
There isn't alot of information about these phones on the web, there are a couple of threads at howardforums.
What do you other ft'ers use as a casual phone?
