Mostly hung around wifi hotspots to be honest, but the best experiences were river boat from Saigon to Phnom Phen (yes, from one capital to the next by river, not flying!) and Siem Reap and Angkor Wat. The temple complex is vast and not too touristed except for the main spots, which are choc-a-bloc full. In Saigon, they'll try and sell you a trip to the Chu Chi tunnels... it was a bore, sorry. No real tunnels either. Some of my most recent blog posts (http://www.jarvenpaa.org/mikko/index.html) are from there, if you're interested in more. I was in Vietman last November and am heading to Cambodia in two months. In Vietnam, the Imperial City/Citadel area of Hue is a definite must as is a stop in Hoi An for the waterfront crafts/dining area. But most of all just enjoy the people and their friendliness/hospitality. In Cambodia of course you have to see Angkor Wat. |
