I know that everyone must be tired of seeing me post about Yellow Fever by now, actually me too. However, our tickets are booked. We are flying from SYR to SJU on US Air, then connecting with Liat Airlines. We fly Liat from SJU to POS overnight in POS at the Bel Aire Hotel right next to the airport. Next day, POS to GEO, six nights in Georgetown, Guyana. One week later, Liat Airlines, GEO to POS overnight in POS again, next day POS to SJU to connect up with US Air at 5:25 pm to fly back to SYR via CLT
My question regarding this post is, ok it has been made quite clear to us by a number of sources that the country of Guyana DOES NOT require the Yellow Fever Vaccine for entry, unless coming from an infected area, which the US is clearly not. However, when we come back from Guyana to Trinidad and overnight there, which is pretty much a transit, will the Trinidad and Tobago Immigration request our Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate coming in from Guyana. Or better yet, will they board us on the plane in GEO to POS without it. I know getting to Guyana will not be a problem. I realize that I am probably over worrying. Finally, if we have the Medical Waiver signed off on the Yellow Fever card saying that a doctor advised it NOT to be given, is that usually acceptable???
So many questions, we just don't want to get somewhere and have problems. Unfortunatley, the embassies and/or consulates are not good at giving clear answers.
