Asiana Club - New Business Seats--how good are they?

I am told that the flight SFO to Seoul has the new business seats, which go flat but are angled 13 degrees to the floor. What I can't figure out is that Asiana reports pitch at 50 inches. Am I right this does not include the portion of the seat that tucks under the seat in front? Because 50 inches pitch does not otherwise allow enough room for a normal size adult to lie with legs stretched.

Are these seats well conceived for sleeping? How do they compare to the shell business seats of Cathay or JAL?

Can anyone compare the quality of food in business to long haul business on Cathay or JAL?

The pitch of Asiana's new business class seat is around 60 inches. The 50" one is old craddle type. Personally I've never taken any angled lie flat seats yet, but it will be similar to CX or JL's one.

Just got of a 777 from PEK to ICN with the new seats (like they show on the website). They are typical flat angled seats with a good pitch. A friend says they are not too different then JAL's. My experience is that they are essentially the same as Air China's. Many people complain about the angle but I find that I am much more able to sleep then the old cradle type. (especally the old Asiana seats like I am about to get on!). Enjoy you flight and let us know what you think.

I was scheduled for a redeye on January 2nd or 3rd of 2008 on the A330 that was supposedly fitted with new seats from HKG-ICN...but as of now changed back to 747. Does anyone know when or if the 747 will have new seats?

Not sure if Asiana will install new seats on 747 by then. Check if they sell F class too on your flight. If only CY are operated on 747, will you be upgraded? Hmm.... actually I'm not sure if they will allow C passengers to enjoy F sleeper seats. Is there any other guys who experienced this?

Unfortunately, all HKG flights are now sold with F fare bucket. So, there will be no C pax assigned to F seats.

I am curious as to those who have flown ICN-LAX on the 777 flights if that flight has new seats permanently.
