Hertz - When I book Hertz on Travelocity, I get free LDW!

Or is it my Amtrak CDP which does this nifty trick?
For rentals in USA only--it didn't work in Canada.

Looks like it's the Amtrak Guest Rewards CDP 1229959. I just tried it on Hertz.com and got LDW included.

This is a great deal (until they find out and pull it)

Has anyone rented with this CDP before and is ID required?

Update: This seems to be valid for rentals starting on September 4th or later. September 3rd and earlier does not include LDW.

In the US, using an American Express or certain Visa cards to pay for your rental entitles you to complete damage coverage. Is that not true for Canada?

True in Canada, AJ. Indeed, as a US citizen/ resident/ cardholder, those CCs provide me with primary coverage in Canada or almost any foreign country, but coverage secondary to my auto insurance in the USA.

But that's not what I was talking about. When I enter the Amtrak CDP into aHertz res. this autumn, I am covered by Hertz itself.
